M.L. Wilson is a writer, author and entrepreneur. He was born October 10, 1965 in Lakenheath, England and grew up in Orlando, Florida where he still lives today.
The son of Thomas and Doris, he is the third youngest of 4 children. At a young age, he already had a love for writing. He attended public school in Orlando and graduated in 1984 from Jones High School. Like most teenagers his age, he didn’t have the desire to attend college so in 1985, M.L. Wilson joined the armed forces by enlisting in the Air Force.
After spending 4 years on active duty at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he separated from the Air Force only to return to the armed forces in 1994 when he joined the Florida Army National Guard. In 1999, he decided to attend the Army Officer Candidate School where he earned his commission in August 2000. In September, he married Lesley and they raised 3 daughters; Sadra, Andrea and Anaya. In 2004, he deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he earned the Army Commendation Medal. He has also earned several other awards throughout his military service which includes the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
M.L. Wilson became an entrepreneur in 2003 when he purchased a cleaning franchise. He sold his franchise a year later when he deployed to Kuwait. He earned his Masters of Business Administration in 2010 from Grantham University and taught English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) part-time for the Orange County Public School system for a few years. He currently works as a department head and federal law enforcement officer for the Department of Justice. In 2016, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the Florida Army National Guard and is currently serving as the Florida National Guards Equal Opportunity Officer.
In addition to his love of science fiction, action and drama, he is also very passionate about effective leadership and has written several articles on Hubpages.com. While THE PROVENANCE is his first published novel, M.L. Wilson also published Your Career in a Fish Bowl: Guarding Your Words and Actions as a Leader in 2015.
